Kadee Couplers continued

The above is a Bachmann Thompson coach. Here a strip of 2mm plasticard has been epoxyed to the base of the coach to carry the coupler and also to ensure the correct height. Note the bogie has been reduced in size to ensure free movement. This is hidden from view when in operation and posses to problem to the smooth running of the rake of coaches. Rubber corridor connectors improve the excellent appearance of this rake of stock. Painting of the white block and weathering will complete the job.

Below
The Bachmann Ivatt tank a long time favourite of mine has a No 19 attached to the front bogie in place of the tension lock. A No.5 kadee is screwed from above with a STS screw to the rear bogie.

The Hornby West Country (below) has a No 31 kadee without mounts screwed directly to the body for the rear, and slightly packed with washers for the front bogie.

Left
The Bachmann Standard 4mt tank’s coupler pocket on the rear of the loco is totally at the wrong height. Here a No 19 is screwed to the base of the socket to correct the height.
