Leather Harnesses

Harnesses are made to order and should be properly fitted to the dog.

Measuring for a Harness

Three measurements are required to ensure the correct fit of your dog's harness, Girth, Chest and Neck. Measurements should be taken in this order. It is important that you follow the directions carefully and that the measurements you take are correct.

We strongly suggest you use string, twine or knitting yarn to simulate the harness. When the simulation is correct the measurements can be taken from the string or yarn.


	Girth Strap Measurement to be taken 75mm (3 inches) behind front leg for medium and large breeds. Accurately measure the complete Girth of the dog.
	Chest Strap Measurement to be taken just above the breast bone. Measurements taken too low will interfere with stride, too high and pressure will be transferred to the throat. Accurately measure from point X to the identical position on the far side of the dog.
	Neck Strap Measurement to be taken directly in line with the front leg. Accurately measure from point X to the identical position on the far side of the dog. The Neck Strap supports the chest strap. *Proper measurement is essential (See Chest Strap)*

All our leather products are pre-treated, ensuring pleasurable use for dog and handler.

Pre-treatment and proper maintenance inhibits cracking and splitting. Leather does not fret like nylon or cotton webbing, nor does it attract burrs or grass seeds.

Leather equipment is a long lasting investment.
