Westering High School is a co-educational, non-denominational day school situated in the Western suburbs of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It was established in 1970.
The language of instruction is English and, as such, the school serves the English- speaking community of its region.

The school has a strong commitment towards providing a balanced education. We, therefore, believe in the academic, sporting, cultural, spiritual, social and pastoral development of all pupils. The school song and mission statement of Westering clearly reflects the strong Christian influence of the settlers after whom the school houses are named.
Our school song constantly reminds us that all our talents come from Him and that we should always strive for all that is good and true.

At Westering, we have a strong academic tradition and a wide subject choice. Culturally, we are renowned for the musical productions we have produced, our strong debating society and our Interact club (a service organisation), and the fact that a cultural societies' period had been built into our weekly timetable.

Opportunities abound for all pupils as there is sport to suit everyone, and in June 1999, we hosted a unique and highly successful co-ed sports' festival. This festival drew participation from schools throughout South Africa and the intention is to add an international flavour in future years.

Ths school has a highly committed staff who are exceptionally motivated to mould the future of our pupils. The pupils are well-disciplined and our aim is to foster integrity within each pupil:
learning to respect others and fulfill their own potential. The confidence, reliability and self-discipline of our pupils is of prime importance to our staff. Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility and develop their leadership skills through the countless opportunities offered by our school.

We endeavour to grow in strength, character and vision

K.R.Ball (Headmaster)
