SPAR Atlantic Rim

The Atlantic Rim is a bi-annual bowls tournament for women bowlers involving countries that border on the Atlantic Ocean, plus other countries whom the hosting country may invite.

The first Atlantic Rim was held in 1993 in the U S A and since then it has been held in South Africa in 1995 and Wales in 1997.

Countries invited to the 1999 tournament are Argentina, Canada, England, Guernsey, Ireland, Israel, Jersey, Namibia, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, Swaziland, U S A, Wales, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The opening ceremony of the 1999 event will be held on Saturday 20 March at the Goodwood Bowling Club, near Cape Town.

The participating countries are seeded into two sections of eight each as follows:
