Team leader and medical doctor
As team leader Farouk is responsible for the management of the team and is also the team's medical doctor. He is responsible for the base and all safety aspects. In addition he operates the GPS/AWI tracking station and the food store levels.

Anton Grobler

Electronic engineer
Anton is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the communication systems at the base. This includes the satellite link as well as the HF and VHF radio networks. In addition, he is responsible for maintaining electronic equipment at the base and the web page.

Electrical engineer
Stephan is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all the electrical systems inside and outside the base. This includes the generation and reticulation of electricity as well as providing back-up power and "clean" power for the scientific programs, communication systems and hospital.

Mechanical engineer
Robert is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all the mechanical systems inside and outside the base (this includes the ventilation, heating & cooling, fresh water, sewerage, refrigeration, fuel supply and power generation systems) as well as the maintenance and operation of the vehicle fleet.

Aiden’s main responsibilities are to assist the mechanical engineer in the maintenance and operation of all the mechanical systems inside and outside the base as well as the vehicle fleet.

Charne is mainly responsible for a number of different daily weather observations. She maintains all the weather measurement equipment.

Zinho’s main responsibilities are the maintenance and operation of the AMIGO and ANOKS programs for the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education (PU for CHE).
