Team leader
Duncan's main responsibility was to manage the team and was responsible for the base and all safety aspects. In addition he maintained and operated the GPS/AWI tracking station as well as the fire detection system.

Karel Koster

Electronic engineer
Karel's main responsibilities were the maintenance and operation of the communication systems at the base. This included the satellite link as well as the HF and VHF radio networks. In addition, Karel was also responsible for the maintenance of all electronic equipment at the base.

Electrical engineer
Mike's main responsibilities were the maintenance and operation of all the electrical systems inside and outside the base.
This included the generation and reticulation of electricity as well as providing back-up power and "clean" power for the scientific programs, communication systems and hospital.

Mechanical engineer
Ryan's main responsibilities were the maintenance and operation of all the mechanical systems inside and outside the base (this included the ventilation, heating & cooling, fresh water, sewerage, refrigeration, fuel supply and power generation systems) as well as the maintenance and operation of the vehicle fleet.

James's main responsibilities were to assist the mechanical engineer in the maintenance and operation of all the mechanical systems inside and outside the base as well as the vehicle fleet.

Ernest's was the medical doctor for the team. He also managed all health-related issues and the food stores in the base.

Niel's main responsibilities were the maintenance and operation of the AMIGO and ANOKS scientific programs for the University of Potchefstroom, including cosmic radiation monitoring and upper atmospheric observations.

Fanus's main responsibility was the maintenance and operation of the SHARE HF Radar program. In addition, he maintained and operated the Council for Geoscience/AWI seismograph. Fanus was the deputy team leader.ograph.

Conrad's main responsibilities were the maintenance and operation of the AMIGO program for the University of Natal at Durban as well as the Swedish Astrid Telemetry program. In addition, he maintained and operated the OZONE monitoring program.
