OryxDepending on its fuel load an Oryx can lift up to one and a half tonnes with ease. Most of the cagro are packed in orange containers measuring roughly 1.5x1.2x2m and is moved from the ship to shore with the help of the Oryx.![]() Cargo trainHeavy cargo packed on sledges is taken to SANAE IV with Cagro trains. A Challenger 65 C or 70 C is used towing up to three sledges. Challengers travel on GPS safe routes and in pairs to assist each other in case of mechanical trouble.![]() Heavy liftsCargo in excess of two tonnes is lifted from the ship with the heavy lift crane to the ice ramp. This includes the Challengers, dozers and food reefers.![]() |
