Neomycin sulphate 2,5 mg
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A 15.1 Ophthalmic preparations with antibiotics.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Neomycin sulphate is an antibiotic, active against many strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Staph. aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella spp., H. influenzae, S. typhi, Shigella and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is ineffective against fungi and viruses.
Minimum inhibitory concentration ranges from 0,5-10 micrograms per mL.
INDICATIONS:
Of value for the local treatment of a variety of eye infections caused by sensitive organisms.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
The use of neomycin sulphate is contra-indicated in sensitive persons.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults and children: To be used as directed by the ophthalmologist.
SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Neomycin may cause irreversible partial or total deafness. Hypersensitivity reactions usually of the delayed type may occur. Resistance to Neomycin and other amino-glycosides is acquired.

PRESENTATION:
Sterile, single-dose, disposable eye drops in cartons of 10 units, each containing approximately 0,5 mL.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store in the refrigerator protected from strong light. DO NOT FREEZE.
Keep out of reach of children.
