PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
8.3 (Erythropoietics)
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
The ferrous sulphate is coated to ensure optimal release in the duodenum and prevent unpleasant gastric symptoms. Cyanocobalamin and folic acid are involved in the synthesis of nucleoproteins and thus assist in haemopoiesis. Ascorbic acid enhances the absorption of iron and assists erythrocyte maturation and production of haemoglobin.
INDICATIONS:
Iron deficiency anaemia, especially in female patients and pre-eminently during pregnancy.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1 tablet to be taken twice daily, after food.
SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Constipation and darkening of the stools may result from treatment with iron. This may be counteracted with a mild laxative.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Accidental ingestion by children may be dangerous and must be referred to a doctor at once.

Dark red sugar-coated tablets.
PRESENTATION:
Containers of 30 and 60 tablets.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
