PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A.24. Mineral substitutes and electrolytes.
INDICATIONS:
For the supplementation of magnesium and zinc in cases of insufficient intake.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Renal impairment, dehydration and gastric lesions and disorders.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Take 2 to 4 tablets daily. It is recommended to take the major dose at night.
SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Diarrhoea, nausea and bowel discomfort may occur. Magnesium chloride should be given with caution to patients receiving digitalis glycosides. Concurrent administration with zinc salt might diminish the effect of penicillamine. Tetracyclines may form a chelate with zinc.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Symptoms of hypermagnesemia may include flushing of the skin, thirst, hypotension due to peripheral vasodilatation, drowsiness, confusion, loss of tendon reflexes due to neuromuscular blockade, muscle weakness, respiratory depression, cardiac arrhythmias, coma, and cardiac arrest.
Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

White, capsule-form tablets.
PRESENTATION:
ULTIMAG is supplied in amber glass bottles containing 30, 60 or 100 tablets.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store under 25°C in a cool dry place.
