COMPOSITION:
Each 5 mL syrup contains:       
Brompheniramine maleate         3 mg
Sodium ascorbate         56 mg
Methylephedrine hydrochloride         7,5 mg
Phenyldimethylpyrazolone         150 mg
Sodium salicylate         150 mg
Codeine phosphate         9,6 mg
Preservatives:
Methylparaben         0,036%
Propylparaben         0,024%

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A.5.8.- Preparations for the common cold, including nasal decongestants and antihistaminics.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Ilvicosyrupis an effective antihistamine preparation which reduces swelling and excess secretions of the mucous membranes. Ilvico syrup due to its formulation also exhibits anti-tussive, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic actions.

INDICATIONS:
Ilvico syrup is a compound preparation for the symptomatic treatment of colds, influenza, infections of the upper respiratory tract, nasal catarrh, rhinitis, sinusitis, hayfever, coughing and non-productive allergic coughs.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Ilvico syrup is contra-indicated in patients on digitalis and mono-amine oxidase inhibitor therapy. Ilvico syrup is contra-indicated in patients with glaucoma and coronary thrombosis. Ilvico syrup should be used with caution in patients with hypertension, hyperthyroidism, organic heart disease, cardiac decompensation and effort angina.

WARNINGS:
Patients using Ilvico syrup should not control vehicles and machinery where lack of concentration could result in accidents.
Do not use continuously for more than 10 days without consulting your doctor.
This medicine may lead to drowsiness and impaired concentration, which may be aggravated by simultaneous intake of alcohol or other central nervous system depressant agents.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Children 1 year to 5 years: 2,5 - 5 mL four times daily.
Children 6 years to 12 years: 5 mL four times daily.
Adults and children 12 years and older: 10 mL four times daily.

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Ilvico syrup
may irritate the gastric mucosa with resultant dyspepsia; haematemesis and melaena may occur in some cases. Ilvico syrup may give rise to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, sweating, headache, abdominal pain, skin rashes, dizziness and drowsiness.
Prolonged and excessive usage of Ilvico syrup may lead to anaemia, blood dyscrasias, gastro-intestinal bleeding, peptic ulceration and renal papillary necrosis.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
The symptoms of overdosage may include dizziness, tinnitus, sweating, nausea, vomiting, mental confusion, respiratory and renal failure. Treat symptomatically and use gastric lavage where indicated. In children serious signs of overdosage may develop rapidly.
In cases of overdosage, consult a doctor immediately.

CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION:
None.

Clear, brownish, pleasantly aromatic smelling syrupy liquid.

PRESENTATION:
Bottles of 150 mL.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Keep out of reach of children.
Store below 25°C.
