PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION A 16.1 Nasal decongestants
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION NASOMIXIN nasal spray is a combination of two vasoconstrictors (phenylephrine and phenylpropanolamine), hydrocortisone, an antibiotic (neomycin sulphate).
The two vasoconstrictors achieve a decongestant action, an effect allowing for the penetration of hydrocortisone, neomycin into the mucosa of the nasal cavities.
The inflammatory reaction in the nasal cavities is suppressed by hydrocortisone, and infection combated by neomycin.
The release-valve ensures a metered quantity of contents to be expelled, and the vehicle ensures uniform distribution of the ingredients to the entire nasal mucosa.
INDICATIONS The treatment of inflammatory (including bacterial), congestive and allergic conditions of the nasal cavities, such as: common cold, allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS Hypersensitivity to neomycin
