COMPOSITION:
Each tablet contains:
        Phenolphthalein (yellow)        250 mg

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A11.5 - Laxatives

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Laxative Action.

INDICATIONS:
Constipation or infrequent, difficult or painful passage of stools.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
This medicine should not be taken by patients with intestinal obstruction, in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting; nursing mothers or pregnant women.

WARNINGS:
1.        If a skin rash appears or if a patient is known to be sensitive in any other, regard to phenolphthalein, this medicine should be discontinued immediately and this or any other preparation containing phenolphthalein should not be used in future.
2.        Frequent a prolonged use of this preparation may result in dependence on laxatives.
3.        Do not use for longer than one week except on the advice of a doctor
4.        It you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for a period of greater than two weeks, consult a doctor before using the laxative.
5        Toxic epidermal necrolysis may infrequently occur and may be life-threatening.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
ADULTS:
One chocolate tablet per day

CHILDREN 6 YEARS AND OLDER: Up to a quarter tablet per day. Not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age unless on the advice and supervision of a doctor.

DO NOT EXCEED THE STATED DOSE

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Abdominal cramps may occasionally occur. The following may occur infrequently:

Excessive laxation or electrolyte depletion with high doses, skin reactions, including non-specific rashes and pigmentation; and toxic epidermal necrolysis.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Derangement of fluids and electrolytes; shock; intense metabolic acidosis; convulsions; acute renal failure; and a possible fatal outcome. In case of accidental overdosage, consult your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

Rectangular halved pieces of chocolate marked “Brooklax”on each half.

PRESENTATION:
Packs of 1 and 4 tablets.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store in a cool (below 25°C), dry place.
Keep out of reach of children.
