WHAT IS VITAMAG?
Vitamag is a magnesium, zinc and vitamin B complex supplement, formulated to release its nutritive ingredients after the tablets have passed through the stomach. The target release formula protects the stomach from possible irritation by magnesium chloride and at the same time protects the vitamins from partial degradation in the acid environment of the stomach. Vitamag contains no artificial colourants. The film coating is coloured with chlorophyll, extracted from plants.

WHAT IS MAGNESIUM?
Magnesium is the body's fourth most abundant cation and like many other vitamins and minerals, is an essential nutrient. Magnesium is responsible for activating more than 300 enzymes in the body and is involved in the utilization of glucose, muscle contraction and synthesis of various tissues in the body.

WHY IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO SUPPLEMENT MAGNESIUM INTAKE.
The World Health Organization currently recommends a daily allowance of 450 to 500 mg elemental magnesium. There has been a sudden awareness of the decline in the magnesium content of different nutrients as a result of industrial food processing and the use of artificial fertilizers.

NORMAL SOURCES OF MAGNESIUM :
Allbran, nuts, wholewheat, chocolate, rice, some seafoods & leafy vegetables.

A MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENT MAY BE NEEDED IF YOU ARE A:
1. SPORTSMAN
Sporting activities and strenuous exercise especially in hot climatic conditions may lead to magnesium depletion.

2. PERSON ON DIET OR WITH EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL INTAKE
When reduced quantities of foods are consumed over a period of time, vitamin and mineral supplementation becomes necessary.

3.LACTATING MOTHER
Lactating mothers need 12,5% more magnesium, 66% more zinc and have higher vitamin requirements than the average adult.

4.PERSON ON CERTAIN LONG TERM MEDICATION
Certain medicines taken for chronic conditions may cause magnesium depletion, necessitating supplementation- consult your pharmacist or doctor.
