Each tablet contains:
Dry extract of Artichoke
Cynara scolymus L.; Compositae –(0,5% of Cinarina)		 100 mg
Dry extract of Jurubeba
Solanum paniculatum L.; Solanaceae –(E:D/1:4) 		50 mg
Dry extract of Boldo
Peumus boldus (Molina) Lyons; Monimiaceae –(0,1% of Boldina) 		50 mg
Magnesium sulphate monohydrate 100 mg
Choline bitartrate 10 mg
Contains sucrose 334,3 mg

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
Complementary medicine

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
LEANOR ARTICHOKE COMPOSTA is a combination of Artichoke, Jurubeba and Boldo, traditional herbal medicines used in the treatment of diverse gastric and intestinal dysfunctions.
In addition to these herbs, LEANOR ARTICHOKE COMPOSTA also contains a lipotropic substance Choline, and Magnesium sulphate which acts on the gastrointestinal tract.
Artichoke has choleretic and diuretic properties and is used for the treatment of digestive disorders characterised by poor assimilation of fat due to insufficient bile secretion.
Boldo has choleretic and antispasmodic activity and increases gastric secretions. It is used for the treatment of mild gastrointestinal complaints.
Jurubeba is used traditionally for the treatment of mild gastrointestinal disorders.
Choline is involved in various metabolic processes, particularly in lipid metabolism, and is important in maintaining a healthy liver.
Magnesium sulphate stimulates the release of cholecystokinin, which leads to intraluminal fluid and electrolyte accumulation and to increased intestinal motility.
Clinical studies carried out on obese patients and patients with dyslipidemia to evaluate the effect of LEANOR ARTICHOKE COMPOSTA on body weight as well as cholesterol, triglyceride and lipoprotein levels showed a decrease in body weight and increase in high-density lipoprotein-bound cholesterol (HDL) levels compared with placebo.

INDICATIONS:
LEANOR ARTICHOKE COMPOSTA is indicated as an aid in:
• the reduction of body weight in conjunction with a balanced kilojoule restricted diet.
• the regulation of gastro-intestinal functions.
• the stimulation of hepatobiliary functions.
• states of lipid intolerance

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to the product or any of its ingredients.
Not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation.
Should not be used simultaneously with alcohol.
Not recommended for use in children under the age of 12 years.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults: 2 to 4 tablets to be taken daily with meals.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a little water, preferably at meal times.

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Doses greater than the recommended doses may cause transient diarrhoea.
Medicines that increase bile secretion should be avoided where there is obstruction of the bile ducts and severe hepatic failure.
The elderly should take this product under medical supervision.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
The product has not been shown to be toxic even in high doses. However, in cases of accidental overdosage, precautions such as gastric lavage should be taken. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

IDENTIFICATION:
Red, oval shaped, film-coated tablets.

PRESENTATION:
Blister packs of 60 and 120 tablets.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store below 25 °C. Protect from moisture and light.
