COMPOSITION:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Magnesium         80 mg
(as magnesium chloride B.P. 670 mg)
Zinc        4 mg(as zinc sulphate 17,6 mg)
Niacin         10 mg
Pyridoxine hydrochloride         25 mg
Riboflavine         1 mg
Thiamine hydrochloride         1 mg

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A.22.1 Multivitamins and multivitamins with minerals.

INDICATIONS:
Magnesium supplement.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Renal impairment and dehydration.
VITAMAG FORTE is contra-indicated in patients sensitive to any of the ingredients.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Take 2 to 4 tablets daily.

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Diarrhoea, nausea and bowel discomfort may occur. Patients receiving digitalis glycosides should take magnesium under medical supervision. The effect of penicillamine may be reduced when taken concurrently with zinc salts.
Tetracyclines may form a chelate with zinc.
Long term (2 - 40 months) administration of large doses (> 200 mg daily) of pyridoxine hydrochloride is associated with the development of severe peripheral neuropathies. Pyridoxine reduces the effects of levodopa but this does not occur if a dopa-carboxilase inhibitor is also given.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:
Symptoms of hypermagnesemia may include flushing of the skin, thirst, hypotension due to peripheral vasodilatation, drowsiness, confusion, loss of tendon reflexes due to neuromuscular blockade, muscle weakness, respiratory depression, cardiac arrhythmias, coma and cardiac arrest.
Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

IDENTIFICATION:
Blue, biconvex oblong tablets.

PRESENTATION:
VITAMAG FORTE is supplied in amber glass bottles containing 30 and 60 tablets.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place.
Protect from moisture - dispense only with a desiccant.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
