COMPOSITION:
Each 1 gram contains:
Sodium Chloride 53,0 mg
Chloroform Water Conc 0,004 mL
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
A34 : Other (Soothing Syrup for Infant Teething)
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
The chloroform, together with the sodium chloride, exerts a pleasant, warm, sweet sensation which soothes the infant.
INDICATIONS:
For infant teething.
CONTRA INDICATIONS:
WARNINGS:
This product contains FD & C yellow No. 5 (Tartrazine) which may cause allergic-type reactions (including bronchial asthma) in certain susceptible individuals. Although the overall incidence of tartrazine sensitivity in the general population is currently thought to be low, it is frequently seen in patients who also have aspirin sensitivity.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Rub gently on the gums 2 or 3 times a day.
SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Chloroform should not be administered to patients with renal, hepatic or cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus or severe anaemia. It is best avoided in patients with acute septic conditions and in patients who are under-nourished.
