Cafe AlbertEat where the locals meet!  Our aim at Cafe Albert is to provide you with freshly prepared good, wholesome dishes using as many ingredients as possible supplied by the people of Prince Albert and surrounding areas.  Our menu offers:

The Gallery Cafe (at the 7 Arches) is now open 6 nights a week - Wednesday to Monday. The restaurant is small, taking a maximum of 18 diners therefore booking is preferred - please bring your own wine and as yet, we have no credit card facilities. We like to change the menu daily, but keep certain dishes constant i.e. the kudu carpaccio, lamb, chicken and vegetarian cannelloni. Tel: Brent 082 749 2128

Set in a historic house (1865) with magical gardens Koggelmander is open Tuesday to Sunday (every day in busy periods) for breakfast, lunch and in-between.  At Koggelmander we celebrate what is local (our staff are all from here) and make Karoo food well.  Our offering includes: Local Breakfasts, Omelettes, Sandwiches, Lamb Burgers, Ostrich Burgers, Bobotie Wraps, Old Fashioned Milkshakes, Waffles, Pancakes, our legendary Carrot Cake, and much more.  We also make a mean cappuccino, caffe latté and espresso.

Koggelmander (which is Afrikaans for an endemic rock lizard) is fully licensed with an extensive wine-list.  All major credit cards are welcome.

Come taste the Karoo and watch the passing parade in the Koggelmander garden or by our original fireplace when it gets colder.

Johnny, Yvette and Martie welcome you to their country farmstall where you can experience hearty comfort food, freshly ground coffee, delicious pickles & jams, home baked fare, fresh produce and a huge selection of gifts. Don't miss out on their "Sexy Warm brood" baked daily on the premises. 

Their "Stoep" is surrounded by old junk and is the perfect place for all your club and work meetings. Enjoy a picnic in the garden with its "Leiwater" dam that has become home to ducks and an array of wild birds. They make up picnic baskets and gifts for special occasions.

Karoo Kombuis: 18 Deurdrift street - Bistro atmosphere, traditional Karoo meals, very special hosts - Theuns, Michael and Denise are former SAA international flight attendants. Set in an historic (1865) house with a magical garden in the main street of the town Koggelmander is open every evening.  We serve a unique blend of modern Karoo food and traditional Afrikaner cooking and source as much as we can locally.  Our staff are all from here.  When the weather-gods are kind we have several tables where patrons can dine under the Karoo sky; when they are not, we serve dinner inside.  

Starters include Aztec Mushrooms (Sliced Mushrooms in a Chocolate, Chilli and Tequila Cream Sauce between Pastry discs), Traditional Cape Malay Curried Fish and African Couscous Cakes.  Mains Include Karoo Lamb (Flame-Grilled Rosemary and Mint Cutlets, Lamb & Pear Curry and Lamb Shanks in Red Wine and Rosemary), Ostrich (Fillet with Orange and Sweet Pepper Relish, Ostrich Carbonara) and  Kudu served with a Chocolate, Chilli and Strawberry Compote.  We offer a variety of vegetarian options too.  Desserts include Baked Cape Brandy and Malva Puddings, Karoo Chocolate Brownies and Homemade Ice Creams.
