The Bush Pub & Restaurant is located on the outskirts of Prince Albert , surrounded by thorn trees and a large dam. It is available for pre-wedding & wedding functions as well as other functions. The restaurant also has an inside fireplace, enough seating and specializes in "pub & grub" meals. The bar has big screens, an inside fireplace and an ATM. There are also pool tables. Outside is a large braai area with plenty of outside seating. There is more than enough parking for visitors.

Cafe Photo Albert combines the experience of a delicious meal, or simply a drink, with the viewing of photos from the area of Prince Albert and all over Africa . The restaurant in the centre of town (44 Church Street ) is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Thursday to Sunday. Our menus consist of good local fare along with a distinct touch of Switzerland . Enjoy one of our fondues, the famous rosti, beef fillet or lamb on a plank or a Swiss pie with Biltong. Drop in at afternoon for a cup of real Italian coffee with a freshly baked waffle. Credit cards are accepted. We are not licensed yet; please bring your own wine.

The Swartberg Hotel is open every day.  The Coffee Shop and Deli are open daily from 07h00 to 17h30 and the Victoria Room is open for dinner every evening from 19h00 to 23h00 (last orders at 22h00).

William and Colleen Penfold offer you an inspiring time browsing through their unique collection of interesting antiques and vintage items, including Cape furniture and copper, Boer War memorabilia, vintage pictures, beautiful porcelain and silver, fascinating books, old kitchen utensils, and Colleen's beautiful handmade quilts, which she creates from Liberty materials. 


The restored building is set in an exquisite tea garden where you can enjoy buffet lunches and teas with dishes made from local and organic products.  Local Karoo products of the highest quality are available. They have indigenous succulents in quirky containers and fresh herbs which you will find in the cold room laden with local award-winning cheeses, fresh flowers and delicacies.

Please note that the Prince Albert Country store is open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 08h00 to 18h00 , on a Saturday from 08h00 to 15h30 and Sunday 09h00 to 15h30. They are closed on a Thursday and Friday.

The @66 Restaurant at Karoo Lodge is open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday evenings from 19h00.

Traditional comfort food from the Cape and Karoo with a touch from Italy and a pinch of Greece is served. The menu changes every week with Ribeye steak, Natural lamb, Ostrich and Vegetarian dishes being permanent features.

Karoo Kombuis: 18 Deurdrift Street - Bistro atmosphere, traditional Karoo meals, very special hosts - Theuns, Michael and Denise are former SAA international flight attendants. The Olive Branch: Seasonal flavours of home-grown herbs, fruit and vegetables. Mediterranean influences. Restaurant rated by Dine 2006, 2007 as one of SA's top 100 restaurants. We do not have a credit card facility. However, we do have a liquor licence, a corkage charge is made if you bring your own wine.  

April has been very busy, and great fun. We are now getting bookings from people who want to eat Hendry's Kokkedoorfood! Still, we expect May to be quieter. The following dates are days for which we have already received bookings, but will put out further dates if requested.

Self catering

If you feel like staying in, there is plenty of local produce available from which to make your own delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pick up fresh milk, cheese and lemon chutney from Gay's Guernsey Dairy. Put that with a loaf of local bread hot from the ovens of Mix, Lazy Lizard or the Swartberg Hotel. Olives and figs from our local farms add colour and you can enjoy your choice of wine from the four Prince Albert wine estates Soetkaroo, Bergwater, Fernskloof or Reiersvlei... and you'll have the most memorable of meals!

Two local butchers and the supermarket supply everything else you might want.
