Background to the National Youth Commission The establishment of the National Youth Commission heralds a giant step by government to place the interests of young men and women at the centre stage of national development. The establishment of the Commission is a result of broad consultation with a variety of stakeholders in the field of youth development. On 9 December 1994, the Deputy President T.Mbeki convened a National Youth Summit of all interested Youth Organisations at Kempton Park. |
