Navstar Windvane Self Steering (Continued)
Stability:
The
servo rudder is geared to have maximum power when it commences moving the
main rudder. As the boat corrects it's course, the incidence of the servo
rudder will then adjust itself to steer back to the neutral position, and
will pull the wheel or helm back to straight back to a straight ahead position.
Construction:
1) The tubes are constructed of aluminum grade 6063.
2)
The
use of Vesconite Hylube bearings on polished 316 stainless steel shafts,
mounted on LM5 grade housings results in low friction,
which prevents metal corrosion.
3) The
two sets of gears are manufactured from UV stabilized Ascetal.
