TAMIYA ASIA-CUP 2001

RACE REGULATIONS

General

1.      Cars must be built following the instruction manual with original Tamiya parts.

2.      All parts must be used as supplied in the box and/or cut as outlined. Modifications, which destroy the form of the original car, are not allowed. For 4WD GT, Stock and Rally classes and Le Mans body car in Formula-1/Le Mans class, tires must stay within the body width and protrusion of tire/wheel is not permitted.   

3.      Although the list does not list all the parts permitted to use, you may use spare parts which are the same as those supplied in the kit. For other spare parts and optional parts, please select from the SP/OP Parts list supplied. 

4.      Radios must be crystal changeable. A third crystal should be available.

5.      Motor must be Tamiya brand motor. For 4WD GT Class, as motor is not supplied by race organizer , you may use whatever Tamiya motor, while at other classes only specific motors are permitted and supplied by race organizer. Please refer to the individual category regulations.   

6.      Batteries shall be supplied to all drivers by the race organizer.

7.      No tire additives are allowed.

8.      Each race will be of 5 minutes duration plus the time to complete the last lap.

9.      Any modifications not described in the regulations are not allowed.

10.Any other issues not clarified in the regulations shall be handled at the discretion of the race organizer.

CAR REGULATIONS (4WD GT Class)

1.      Cars eligible for qualification are TA03F, TA03F Pro, TA03RS, TA03R, TA03FS, TA-04 PRO, TA04, TA04S, TA04R, TL01, TB01 and TB Evolution. TRF414X and TRF414 are not permitted.

2.      2400SP battery packs will be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Battery wires can be modified at the bottom of connector to accept other types of speed controller connectors. Wire length must exceed 3cm.

3.      Motor will not be supplied by the race organizer.

4.      Motor brushes must be from Tamiya.

5.      Car does not have to be equipped with cockpit detail or a driver figure.

6.      Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed. However, wires of speed controller can be soldered to motor.

7.      Minimum weight of car ready to run is to be 1,500g.

8.      Any parts from TRF414X, TRF414 and TRF414M are not permitted except those which are commonly used for TA-04 family kits.

9.      Clearance under main chassis parts must exceed 5mm before the race.

 CAR REGULATIONS   (FORMULA-1 & LE MANS)

 

1.      Chassis eligible for qualification is F103RS, F103RX and F103LM and must come with either Formula 1 car body or Le Mans type body.  F103L Indy Type Chassis is not allowed.

2.      Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Battery wires can be modified at the bottom of connector to accept other types of speed controller connectors. Wire length must exceed 3cm.

3.      #53068 RS-540 Sports Tuned Motor will be supplied by the race organizer.  Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed. However, wires of speed controller can be soldered to motor.

4.      Tires will not be supplied by the race organizer. Only the following tires will be allowed.

    #53349 F-1 Reinforced Slick Type A (Front)

#53350 F-1 Reinforced Slick Type A (Rear)

  #53374 F-1 Reinforced Slick Type B (Front)

#53375 F-1 Reinforced Slick Type B (Rear)

5.      Driver figure must be used for Fomula-1 car and open top Le Mans car. No driver figure is necessary for closed top Le Mans car. Modifications, which alter the form of the original car, are not allowed.

6.      Minimum weight of car ready to run should be 1,000g for Formula 1 body car while 1,100g for Le Mans type body car.

7.      Clearance under main chassis parts must exceed 3mm before race.

8.      Pinion gear must be chosen within the gear ratio given as follows:

    0.4 module:   20-29T pinion gear

    0.6 module:   12-23T pinion gear

CAR REGULATIONS (RALLY CLASS)

 

1.    Cars eligible for qualification are TB01 chassis and TL01 chassis cars with a Tamiya rally car body.

2.    50476 Rally Block Tires are the only tires permitted to be used in this class. Any Tamiya wheel can be used as long as it fits and goes well with 50476. Medium narrow size wheels are not permitted.

3.    Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Wire can be modified at the bottom of connector to accept other types of speed controller connectors. Wire length must exceed 3 cm.

4.    Only Dyna-Run Racing Stock Motor (53272) is allowed. The motor will be supplied. Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed. However, wires of speed controller can be soldered to motor.

5.    Car does not have to be equipped with chassis dust cover and driver/co-driver figures. Modifications that destroy the form of the original car are not allowed.

6.    Minimum weight of car as ready to run to be 1,600g.

7.    Gear Ratio: Only 0.6 module is accepted.  0.4 module is not permitted.

CAR REGULATIONS Stock Touring / M-Chassis Class)

1. Cars eligible for qualification are FF02, TL01, M03 and M04(L/M). Speed controller is limited to a 3-step mechanical switch as supplied in the box.

2. Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers.  No modifications to the battery wires or connectors are allowed.

3. Standard 540 Motors will be supplied by the race organizer.  Drivers must use the motors as provided including wires. Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed.

4. Car does not have to be equipped with cockpit detail and/or a driver figure.

5. Minimum weight of cars ready to run should be:

Stock Touring(FF02/TL01): over 1,550 g

  M-Chassis (M03/M04ML): over 1,250 g

6. Speed Tuned Gear:

Up to 19T(including 53342 TL-01 Speed Tuned Gear) is accepted for TL-01,  and 16T, 18T and 20T are accepted for FF02 and M03. Up to 19T is  accepted for M04L.  Up to 21T is accepted for M04M.

7. Use of 53345 TL-01 Toe-in Rear Upright and 50808 TG10 Rear Long Wheel Axle is allowed. (These parts are included in 58223 Castrol Mugen NSX and 58244 Mercedes CLK GT-R Original Teile)

8. Clearance under main chassis parts of FF02 and TL-01 must exceed 5mm before the race, while it must exceed 3mm for M03 and M04M before race.

9. The tire size of front and rear in M-Chassis should be same. The usable tires are regulated as follows:

 

FF02 & TL-01:
