October 1997 Speed Trials

Many people have asked me what speeds our boats in South Africa are doing and hopefully I can give you that answer now. At the October 1997 event we set up a 100m sprint and clocked the speeds of our boats on the straight. It must be noted that the speeds are as the boats are set up for the normal M track racing and were not deliberately set for top speed only. We did these tests during our lunch break between the heats.

The day was fun and we all were surprised to see the results.
