THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK

• You have the right to work anywhere in the UK if you are a UK national or from an EEC country ;

 

•   For temporary employment, you will be required by your employer to fill out a P46 form ;

 

•   The necessary reductions of tax and NI will be deducted from your gross earnings ;

  

• Unless you have proof that you are self-employed, your employer will need the following :

 

a)                  Location name of your tax office ;

b)                  Tax reference number ;

c)                  The name of your accountant, if applicable ;

d)                  Proof of your insurance (Public Liability and Professional Indemnity).

   

International Employees

•   All international applicants should require proof of a visa to allow them to work in the UK ;

 

• There is a requirement of a National Insurance number for your employer. To obtain this number, you must apply to your local Department of Social Services. Their address can be found in your  local yellow pages ;

 

• For payment, all employers require an invoice showing your full name, address, date of birth and your National Insurance number ;
