Mountain
Climbing - the Ultimate!
Mountain
Climbing requires strength, fitness and ambition. Whether you would be doing the Mountain
Rope Climbing or the better known and easier, Mountain Hiking. Both of them have their own
degrees of difficulties and have there stages where you just want to drop down and give
up. I suppose that is where your determination and ambition comes into it. But it is
needless to say that you need those qualities to succeed in anything, be it sport,
business or life in general.
There are two different types of mountain
Climbing, you get the Technical Mountain Rope Climbing which is probably where the
strength and the patience comes into it. This type is for the more fit person who can
think well on the spot and not hit a flat panic should they reach a situation that seems
impossible. Although if you are not strong and fit, it does not necessarily mean that you
can never partake in this sport. It is just that if you are not experienced in Rock
Climbing , it is advisable that you go through an
Extreme Adventure Club or you go with professional Mountain Climbers who can assist you
all the way.
You will probably find that the people who find themselves stranded and stuck in
the Mountains are generally the inexperienced climbers who took on a Climb that looked
much easier than it actually was. They do rate all rock climbs in degrees of difficulties
and if you go climbing you should know exactly what climbs are suited for your abilities.
They say that when you rock climb with ropes there is so much concentration involved that
you have absolutely no time to admire the view down below.
Then the other type of Mountain Climbing is the normal Mountain Climb or Mountain
Hiking e.g. Walking up the paths to the Top of Table Mountain / Lions Head. Now just
because you are not hanging Xm in the air by means of ropes, does not necessarily mean
that this climbing is easy.
I have Climbed up Table Mountain and Lion's Head and both times I had cursed the
people that made me go. I had the determination, and the belief that I could do it and I
did - but I sure did lack the fitness side. I felt as if my my legs had falling off and if
my respiratory system had packed up. In fact the Table Mountain Climb took so much out of
me I took the Cable Car down! But one thing I will say is that it was the
most fun I had had in ages and to go with a group of friends or a club, I guarantee you
that you will not regret it!!!
Now I thought that Climbing Table Mountain was the Ultimate, but.....
Certain Millennia Members took there Goals to a much Higher Limit. They
climbed Mount Kenya in aid of the Save the Rhino Foundation.
