On Saturday 05 September 1998 at 12:30 (10:30 GMT) KR-2 ZS-WPX was flown for the first time after a year and six months of restoration. The Test pilot was Louis Frouws and the flight lasted 20 minutes.

On the same day Louis also flew his own KR-2 ZS-ULX which he had been working on for the last few years after an initial flight a few years ago. All these birds have 2 Lt. VW motors in them with dual "Stromberg" carburetors. ZS-VUH has a magneto and the other two have standard distributor and coil ignition. ZS-ULX has a turned around motor driving off the flywheel side. The drive line is 2" lower and and the prop clearance is limited.

But that was not the end of his flying the same day he also flew Roger Price's KR-2 ZS-VUH. This KR-2 was originally Louis's aircraft which he bought from its original owner and flew for many years until he sold it to Roger. This bird has fixed gear.

Here we have a picture of the intrepid aviator with his Partinavia in the background which was also flown earlier the morning.
