Tweezers
As for tweezers, my daughter's mentor warned us about that early on. We never
kept tweezers in the house and my daughter would have her eyebrows
professionally done. I know some people have told me they cannot give up
their tweezers for emotional reasons although they can resist using them many
times. What I suggested was to put the tweezers (hopefully stainless steel)
in a plastic cap full of water and keep them in the freezer. That provides
the comfort of having them, but the delay of unthawing them before they can be
use gives the urge time to dissipate and an opportunity to deal with it before
having the ability to pull. Sort of like impulse control? Aside from
technical considerations, this was why I always insisted on my daughter only
having her head shaved by a professional. My daughter was always free to
have her head shaved if she wanted, but the time it took to get an appointment
to see the barber afforded an oftentimes needed cooling down period before
launching her pre-emptive "nuke" to keep from pulling again.
