My theory about stopping
To me, trich consists of many parts. These are the most important ones (for me):
| The Trich monster - the urges | |
| The itching head | |
| The habit part of trich | |
| Being stressed/bored | |
| The emotional part - not knowing about trich, hating yourself, feelings of unworthiness, hopelessness etc. I believe that before anything will help, there has to be a real and true need to stop pulling. Sometimes it takes a while to get to that point, for various reasons - the unbelief that one can become pull-free, a feeling that I am too weak to do it, or maybe just too many hurts that first need to be dealt with. Whatever the case, before you don't have that real need to stop pulling, you are wasting your time with pills or treatment etc. There are NO wonder pill - just very, very hard work and perseverance. Pills, diets, vitamins etc cannot make you say no - but it can be helpful in your struggle.. But in the end YOU have to make the choice - over and over and over, day after day after day. Unfortunately this will probably be for the rest of your life. It is hard to hear, but the sooner you realise and accept it, the sooner you can make the necessary changes (that work for you) and the healing can start. May God give you courage and strength to fight this. |
