Get to know Cheryn

When I discovered all the info abt trich, one of the 'big names' that I heard about, was of  Cheryn.  Cheryn has written a trich book and is a regular to speak at trich retreats, conferences etc.  In my mind, Cheryn is 'up there' with all my trich heros.  I never met her or e-mailed her though.  I guess in my mind she just wasn't in my 'league'.  Well, a while ago we made e-mail contact, and she truly is a lovely person!

Cheryn also has a website ## which tells all about her business, which is a must for trichsters!  Cheryn supplies wigs, false eyelashes etc... at the lowest guaranteed prices, and from what I have heard, her false eyelashes is the best you can get!   She has a great FAQ on there, where many questions are answered that are often asked abt wigs, false eyelases etc.   On there you can also order her trich book which tells of her life with trich, and the victory she has found!

Cheryn spoke at the recent Philly conference and she shared her feeings about it with me.   She mentioned that she grew so much at the conference, and I asked her what she meant by that.  Following is her reply and I asked her permission to add it here, so that you guys can also get to know her and see what a wonderful person she is.

(And no, she isn't paying me to say these nice things about her!... giggle!).  Seriously, what I said abt her, came from my heart.

Here is her reply to me:

I grew so much at the conference because I was feeling my normal feelings
of inadequacy, etc. asking God why do you have me doing this when I have
such a hard time doing it. Asking, but at the same time thanking Him for I
knew it was all in His plan. Well, after crying at the hotel the night
before the conference began I handed it over to Him and said "This is your
conference, you put me in this position... the outcome is your
responsibility. All I can do is my best.
Well, obviously that is where He wanted my heart to be, and ..presto!... I
was free! I felt comfortable about the next day.
I began the day speaking to 40 kids. 3 doctors before me did their 1/2
hour presentations/workshops which I observed because I wanted to see what
they do. (I always had felt lesser than, which was so wrong, so now I
didn't and just wanted to see what they did)
The kids were attentive, though the young ones were more interested in
playing and socializing, which was fine for it was their therapy.) By the
3rd doctors set the kids were ready for lunch, and becoming a little unruly
(maybe 1/5 of them).
By my time it was 1/2 hour before lunch and the kids were throwing stuff
all around their tables. Very noisy. The last doctor was a little
flustered.
Now was my turn!!! Amanda, I got those kids in the palm of my hand,
listening intently. It was incredible. I captured them. Andy, the doctor
went and told all his peers.
Next was the adults class. There were 50. I used the outline I had put
together for the kids. I spoke for 1/2 hour of the 1 1/2 hour time slot.
It ended up being okay for we had Q and A time afterward which lasted, you
guessed it, 1 hour.
Next day I did another adult class. I spoke for 1 hour. Afterwards I sat
down (before Q and A) and a man said that he got out of my session more
than anything he'd gotten that weekend. Then they gave me a standing
ovation. Incredible. I was humbled and joyous. The Q and A lasted 1/2
hour. Next and last I did a makeup session. I made up this one girl who
had pale skin and no eyebrows or eyelashes. Very blank looking. When I
was done she looked like a babe. Her mom cried. She looked beautiful, and
natural. Awesome.

Dateline was there doing there interview stuff. They spoke with me,
Christina and a woman they are considering using in their segment. So far
they don't want Christina and me. we are too well for them. They want a
bald, lashless, browless shamed person to be interviewed. Not going to
happen. Hoping God will have them use Christina and I in their segment.

I'm in awe of what God's doing. He is so great.
