Prayer
1.Prayer commanded:
Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Mt 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
2. Prayer to be offered:
a) To God:
Ps 5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
Mt 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
b) To Christ:
Lu 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Ac 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
c) To the Holy Spirit:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
2Th 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
d) Through Christ:
Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
3.God hears prayer:
Ps 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
Ps 65:2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
4.God answers prayer:
Ps 99:6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
5. Prayer is described as:
a) Bowing the knees:
Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
b) Looking up:
Ps 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
c) Lifting up the soul:
Ps 25:1 ((A Psalm of David.)) Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
d) Lifting up the heart:
La 3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
e) Pouring out the heart:
Ps 62:8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
f) Pouring out the soul:
1Sa 1:15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.
g) Calling upon the name of the Lord:
Ge 12:8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
Ps 116:4 Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
Ac 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
h) Crying to God:
Ps 27:7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Ps 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
i) Drawing near to God:
Ps 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
j) Crying to heaven:
2Ch 32:20 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.
k) Beseeching the Lord:
Ex 32:11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
l) Seeking to God:
Job 8:5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
m) Seeking the face of the Lord:
Ps 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
n) Making supplication:
Job 8:5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
Jer 36:7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
6. Prayer, acceptable through Christ:
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
7. Prayer ascends to heaven:
2Ch 30:27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
Re 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
8.Quickening grace necessary to prayer:
Ps 80:18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
9. The Holy Spirit:
a) Promised as a Spirit of prayer:
Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
b) As the Spirit of adoptions, leads to prayer:
Ro 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Ga 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
c) Helps our infirmities in prayer:
Ro 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
10. Prayer, an evidence of conversion:
Ac 9:11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
11. Prayer of the righteous, avails much:
Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
12. Prayer of the upright, a delight to God:
Pr 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
13.Prayer should be offered up:
a) In the Holy Spirit:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
b) In faith:
Mt 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
c) In full assurance of faith:
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
d) In a forgiving spirit:
Mt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
e) With the heart:
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
La 3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
f) With the whole heart:
Ps 119:58 I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.
Ps 119:145 KOPH. I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
g) With preparation of heart:
Job 11:13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
h) With a true heart:
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
i) With the soul:
Ps 42:4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
j) With the spirit and understanding:
Joh 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
1Co 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
k) With confidence in God:
Ps 56:9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
Ps 86:7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
1Jo 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
l) With submission to God:
Lu 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
m) With unfeigned lips:
Ps 17:1 ((A Prayer of David.)) Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
n) With deliberation:
Ec 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
o) With holiness:
1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
p) With humility:
2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2Ch 33:12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
q) With truth:
Ps 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
r) With desire to be heard:
Ne 1:6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
Ps 17:1 ((A Prayer of David.)) Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
Ps 55:1 <> Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.
Ps 55:2 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
Ps 61:1 ((To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David.)) Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
s) With desire to be answered:
Ps 27:7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Ps 102:2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
Ps 108:6 That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.
Ps 143:1 ((A Psalm of David.)) Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
t) With boldness:
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
u) With earnestness:
1Th 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
Jas 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
v) With importunity:
Ge 32:26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
Lu 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
Lu 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Lu 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Lu 18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
Lu 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Lu 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Lu 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Lu 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Lu 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
w) Night and day:
1Ti 5:5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
x) Without ceasing:
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
y) Everywhere:
1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
z) In everything:
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
14. Pray for temporal blessings:
Ge 28:20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
Pr 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Mt 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
15. Pray for spiritual blessings
Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
16. Pray for mercy and grace to help in time of need:
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
17. Model for prayer:
Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Mt 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mt 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
18.Vain repetitions in prayer, forbidden:
Mt 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
19.Ostentation in prayer, forbidden:
Mt 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
20. Prayer accompanied with:
a) Repentance:
1Ki 8:33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:
Jer 36:7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
b) Confession:
Ne 1:4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
Ne 1:7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor
the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
Da 9:4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
Da 9:5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
Da 9:6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Da 9:7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
Da 9:8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
Da 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
Da 9:10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
Da 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
c) Self-abasement:
Ge 18:27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
d) Weeping:
Jer 31:9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
Ho 12:4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;
e) Fasting:
Ne 1:4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
Da 9:3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
Ac 13:3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
f) Watchfulness:
Lu 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
g) Praise:
Ps 66:17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
h) Thanksgiving:
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Col 4:2 ¶ Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
21.Plead in the:
a) Promises of God:
Ge 32:9 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
Ge 32:10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
Ge 32:11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
Ge 32:12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.
Ex 32:13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.
1Ki 8:26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
Ps 119:49 ZAIN. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
b) Covenant of God:
Jer 14:21 Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.
c) Faithfulness of God:
Ps 143:1 ((A Psalm of David.)) Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
d) Mercy of God:
Ps 51:1 ((To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.)) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Da 9:18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
e) Righteousness of God:
Da 9:16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
22.Rise early for prayer:
Ps 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Ps 119:147 I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word.
23.Seek divine teaching for prayer:
Lu 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
24.Faint not in prayer:
Lu 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
25.Continue instant in prayer:
Ro 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
26.Avoid hindrances in prayer:
1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
27. Prayer, suitable in affliction
Isa 26:16 LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.
Jas 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
28.Shortness of time a motive to prayer:
1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
29. Postures in prayer:
a) Standing:
1Ki 8:22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
Mr 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
b) Bowing down:
Ps 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
c) Kneeling:
2Ch 6:13 For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,
Ps 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
Lu 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
Ac 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
d) Falling on the face:
Nu 16:22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
Jos 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
1Ch 21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
Mt 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
e) Spreading forth the hands:
Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
f) Lifting up the hands:
Ps 28:2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
La 2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
30.The promises of God encourage to prayer:
Isa 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Lu 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
