INTERACT - Industry Giant

Today, Greg Melvill-Smith talks to Louis Basson about a great computer game: "Industry Giant"

"Industry Giant" is a strategy game that challenges you to you plan, build and manage a business. It encourages you to do a lot of business analysing by studying the statistics.

For example, lets take a big German city in 1960. We can choose the design and decide which business to pursue. You would look at the number of people in the city and decide what is needed for industry to begin - for example - a sawmill. Then you could set up a toy factory which would utilise the wood from the saw-mill.

You can demolish the land, make it even and build roads, allowing the city to expand whichever way you want it to.

The aim of the game is to beat your competition and continue pleasing your customers - which you attract with advertising.

This game will teach the skills you'll need if you want to run your own business. You'll learn a lot about fluctuating and stable markets.
