Table Mountain

This camera looks out from the top of the Provincial Legislature in central Cape Town on to Table Mountain, Cape Town's most famous landmark. During the day you may often see the characteristic "tablecloth" of cloud which flows off the top of the mountain like steam overflowing a giant pot. At night, in summer, you will see the face of the mountain illuminated by a bank of five huge lights, making the mountain one of the largest artificially illuminated natural features in the world.

Greenmarket Square

In many ways Greenmarket Square is the centre of Cape Town's CBD. The cobbled square was, as its name suggests, a place of open air commerce in early Cape Town. Today a large flea-market operates on the square daily, bringing life to the many coffee shops and restaurants that border on it. This camera looks out of the Intekom offices on to a hotel verandah which affords patrons a comfortable vantage point from which to survey buskers and the passing trade.
