There is a richness of entertainment and cultural attractions and opera, ballet, concerts and drama have become part of everyday life in the city. Should one wish for a night out on the town, there is a wide variety of entertainment available and close at hand.

When it comes to big events - music concerts, fashion shows, sports tournaments, etc. - many people seem to overlook Cape Town, or think it's too small to cater for some events. The truth of the matter is that Cape Town has hosted some HUGE events in the past, and had we been awarded the Summer Olympics for 2004, there is no doubt that it would have been HUGE too.

U2 concert ticket

As recently as January 1998, Capetonians were treated to a musical fantasy when the Irish supergroup, U2, performed their Popmart concert at the Greenpoint Stadium.
