This tour that takes you on a spectacular journey through the  
beautiful Eastern Cape and into the Little Karoo. En route you 
will visit three of the outstanding Game Parks that the area has 
to offer and enjoy an "African Experience" while staying at a 
game lodge near Graaff-Reinet. You will also learn the colourful  
history of the area and the stories of the rugged me who tamed  
this hostile territory named the "Karoo"  

DAY 1  
We depart Port Elizabeth and head for Addo Elephant Park. 
En route your experienced guide will tell you the history of  
Port Elizabeth and the area. Our route will take us past the  
sprawling township of Motherwell, through the Coega Valley  
into the famous Addo Valley and on to the exciting Addo Elephant Park. The Park offers one of the best elephant experiences in  
South Africa, as we come face to face with the gentle giants of  
Africa. We observe their eating, drinking and bathing habits as  
they quietly go about their business of the day. In the Park we  
may also encounter many other animals including the Cape 
Buffalo, the shy rhino and the busy dung beetle. Leaving the  
Park we head for Cradock and our first overnight stop at the  
beautifully restored Cradock Tuishuise, where we enjoy the  
famous Karoo hospitality and cooking.  

DAY 2  
Our first stop for the day is at the Mountain Zebra Park. 
Here we drive to the plateau on top of the mountain to view the 
rare Mountain Zebra of the Karoo. Springbok and many  
antelope abound in this mountain paradise and it is not unusual  
to see mixed herds of game grazing peacefully together.  
Then it is on to the town of Nieu-Bethesda and the "Owl House" 
of Helen Martins, before arriving at Graaff-Reinet. Here we  
visit Reinet House where we can see the colourful history of  
this famous frontier town. As the sun dips toward the mountains 
we visit the Valley of Desolation, one of natures awesome 
wonders before driving to Camdeboo Safari Lodge. A truly 
"African Experience" awaits us as we settle into the camp  
and prepare for a sumptuous evening meal and a peaceful  
nights sleep.  

DAY 3  
The day starts early with a cup of coffee then it is into the  
Landcruiser for a  fantastic game drive to the top of the  
waterfall and the slopes of the mystical Toorberg Mountain 
where we will see the plentiful game of the farm in their 
natural habitat. After a hearty farm breakfast we travel to  
Shamwari Game Reserve for lunch and a visit to Kya Lendaba,  
the traditional African healing village. The afternoon is spent  
game viewing on the Shamwari Estate.
