M104: SOMBRERO GALAXY
This image of M104 in Virgo, was taken with my SBIG-STV CCD camera at prime focus on the Meade LX200 10" SCT operating at F3.75. I used "Track & Accumulate" mode of the STV and the image is made up of 16 exposures of 25 seconds each with a dark-field subtracted from each exposure - all done automatically by the STV. You can see the picture build up and when you are happy with it, just save it.
This system can be used in the field independent of a computer. It can store 14 images in memory or you can dump any number on a Laptop or on a Camcorder.
