I am busy with research on the Durow family in South Africa. I traced many Durow descendants so far, but I am still looking for some of them. Please read this short summary on the Durow family in South Africa.
The boat, "Wilhelmsburg" left Hamburg on the 19th October 1858 and arrived at East London on the 13th January 1859. Aboard were Carl Durow (42), a shepherd from Schmachtenhagen, Brandenburg in Germany (Prussia), his wife Wilhelmine (35) and three children Carl (14), Auguste (8) and Bertha (3). They settled on a farm in the Izeli settlement in Braunschweig not far from East London.

Carl David Durow was born in Prussia in 1817, died in 1895 and was buried in King Williamstown. He was married to Wilhelmine Retschlag. She was born in Prussia in 1824, died in 1903 and was also buried in King Williamstown. They had a son and two daughters;
Carl Christian Friedrich Durow.
Auguste Louisa Christiania Durow.
Maria Helena Durow.

Carl Christian Friedrich Durow was married to Wilhelmine Bottger. They were from the farm Driefontein in the Macleartown area. They had 6 children.

Auguste Louisa Christiania Durow.
She married a "Matz" from the Transkei.

Maria Helena Durow.
She married a "Rieger" from East Londen.
