Noel Ross, Ian Hendry and Nasie Vermaak have joined forces to offer you, the discerning hunter, a memorable hunting experience in the MALARIA FREE Eastern Cape of South Africa. East Cape Trophy Safaris provides packages and tailor made hunts within the Eastern Cape which in turn offers the largest number of species in the Southern Hemisphere.

Noel, Ian and Nasie also offer bow hunting as they are also all keen bow hunters and have erected pit blinds, ground blinds and tree blinds specifically for this purpose.

Noel Ross has been hunting with overseas clients since the mid-seventies. He has guided high profile and renowned hunters, such as the Saudi Arabian royal family (under Steve Smith), Ken Wilson of "Sportsmen on Film", Craig Boddington of Petersens Hunting Magazine, Mike Simpson (Conroe Taxidermy), Harry Tennyson as well as past Presidents of SCI - C.J McElroy, Wayne Pocius and Skip Danau. His interest in the outdoors and wildlife from an early age enable Noel to achieve the Springbok Scout Award (Eagle Scout). He was presented with the prestigious Professional Hunter of the Year Award in 1988 by PHASA. He was also awarded the ECGMA's Mike Cawood Trophy in 1997 - for outstanding contribution to conservation and Game Management.

Nasie Vermaak was born and raised in the Karoo, enabling him to hunt from an early age and has extensive knowledge of plains game. He is a Life Member of the East Cape Game Management Association (ECGMA) and is currently serving on the executive. He is very involved in vast conservation projects in the area.

Ian Hendry wa born and raised in Kenya. His father hunted extensively in East Africa and passed on his love for hunting and the outdoors to him. Ian moved to South Africa in 1963 and has gained extensive knowledge of the game species and is also a keen wingshooter and bowhunter. He is also currently on the executive of the ECGMA.

All three men are closely involved with the education and training of the youth and are involved with the Junior Hunters and Conservation Course offered by the ECGMA and Noel is the co-director of the Spring Valley School of Professional Hunters.

Temperatures vary greatly in our area. The winter months (May to August) can be very cold with temperatures dropping below freezing point at night. The summer months (November to February) can be very hot so we recommend you come with clothing according to the season. Comfortable walking boots are essential.

Insurance is the responsibility of the individual. While every effort is made by East Cape Trophy Safaris to ensure the clients safety, no responsibility can be accepted for any illness, accident or loss or expense thereof. Clients will be expected to sign an indemnity form before the commencement of the hunt.

As many shots are taken at long range, it is recommended that a medium calibre rifle from approximately 270 to 338 is used.
