the moment you set foot in the entrance of Royal Legend Safari Lodge &
Spa, the comfort and elegance of the lodge reaches out and welcomes you.
This is in sharp contrast to the untouched bush surroundings, which is
home to the wildlife that will make your stay at Royal Legend Safari Lodge
& Spa so memorable.
The
lodge is located in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, which is part of
the Greater Kruger National Park (near Hoedspruit town in the Limpopo Province,
South Africa).
Nestled
along the banks of a seasonal river, Royal Legend Safari Lodge & Spa's
ten luxurious chalets all command a magnificent view of the watercourse
and it's surrounding lush vegetation.

| Meals
are taken in the massive thatched entertainment area, where the arrangement
of the furniture provides a cozy feel. This enhanced by two large circular
fireplaces, which provide a focal point and the ideal location to discuss
game sightings on a chilly winter's night.
Meals
can be taken on damask linen under the thatched roof, out of the raised
teak deck, or in the boma at night.
The
lounge and dining areas overlook the riverbed and a waterhole, lit at night
with animal-friendly spotlights. A magnificent bar also gives an uninterrupted
view of the waterhole.

Spa
The
lodge not only provides luxurious facilities in beautiful surroundings,
but also prides itself on being flexible and catering to the needs of the
guests.
The
staff is dedicated to providing attentive service starting with the indulgence
of a health spa, which covers for all your needs with treatments of top
quality products with proven results.
For
those who feel the need to exercise, a gym is equipped with everything
needed for a full cardiovascular workout, as well as a selection of free
weights. A large Jacuzzi and a sauna are on hand to complete the experience.

Each
chalet was built with minimum intrusion into the natural environment, and
guests can appreciate an almost unbroken view of the river from the comfort
of their beds through the glass doors on two sides of the chalet.
Each
chalet has it's own private deck area, where guests can relax with a book
from the lodge's small but select library, or simply bask in the sun, keeping
an eye open for the shy creatures that inhabit the river banks.
All
the chalets have air conditioning and large mosquito nets over the beds.
The rooms have telephone facilities and Internet connectivity.

bar fridge and a safe are tucked away in reeded cupboards, with a mirrored
vanity of beautifully grained indigenous wood counters. The tops are harvested
from single slabs of wood, with curves of the tree providing a sinuous
organic feel.
Individually
decorated with understated luxury in mind, the extra length king or twin-bedded
rooms feature artwork made by skilled local villagers.

Game
viewing safaris - Game Drives
An
open vehicle safari at Entabeni Safari Conservancy is an exhilarating experience
for nature and wildlife lovers. Open 4x4 vehicles ensure close encounters
with the Big Five and numerous wildlife species. Qualified and knowledgeable
game rangers will take visitors on an educational journey of breathtaking
scenery, diverse vegetation and prolific bird- and wildlife.
Children
under six years of age will not be permitted on game drives due to the
risk to themselves and other guests. Where possible, depending on
the number of children in-house and the availability of additional vehicles,
special game drives for children can be arrange at Entabeni Safari Concervancy.
These drives cannot be guaranteed, usually take place after breakfast and
are not available at Royal Legend Safari Lodge & Spa or Jackalberry
Lodge.

What
to bring:
Light
jackets for the summer months and morning drives. Warmer jackets
are recommended for evening drives and the winter months. Mosquito
repellent, Hat, Sun screen, Binoculars, camera & comfortable walking
shoes are also advisable. Blankets, raincoats & hot water bottles
are provided on the vehicles.
Programme:
Two
Game Drives daily, a Morning Game Drive (06:30) with a stop for morning
tea/coffee & rusks and an Afternoon Game Drive (16:00) with a sundowner
stop where drinks and snacks are served. |
| Game
viewing safaris - Bush Walks
Armed
& experienced rangers accompany guests on the bush walk. This
bush experience is educational & offers close encounters with members
of the Big Five, & is therefore both rewarding & exhilarating for
the more adventurous guests. The emphasis on any bush walk is to
understand the bush & its various eco-systems. Medicinal properties
of flora of the African Bush will be explained in detail. The sensations
of touching, smelling, seeing & hearing the bush will be something
to remember. Bush walks are not available at Royal Legend Safari
Lodge & Spa.
Children
under 12 years of age are not allowed to participate in the game walks
offered at Entabeni Safari Concervancy and Jackalberry Lodge.

Entabeni
Safari Conservancy is located in the renowned Waterberg area of the Limpopo
Province. Here you will find a vast variety of large and small game species
including the ¨Big Five¨ as well as many bird species. The terrain
in this beautiful game reserve varies from bushveld to unspoilt ravines
and wooded hillsides. Some of these are wilderness areas, only accessible
by foot or horseback. Entabeni is malaria-free and promises to provide
a memorable blend of luxury and rugged experiences in the wilderness.

Viewing
We
offer one and two hour rides as an additional game viewing activity.
Guests with little or no previous riding experience are able to participate
in this activity.
Safari
We
specialise in 2 day safaris tracking some of the ¨Big Five¨ whilst
following game and elephant trails. Breakfast and Lunch are served
at the lodges or at various bush venues. Riding resumes again in
the afternoon, returning to the lodges in time for dinner.

We
ride through rugged wilderness areas, only accessible by foot or on horseback,
for 2 to 5 hours per day, encountering dangerous game. This activity
is therefore more suitable for intermediate to advanced riders who are
able to trot, canter and gallop with confidence. Novice riders are accommodated
on request.
