Goldfields Revival Centre
Photographs showing various views of the Local Church.
The Church ground was purchased on the 7th of December 1983 for an amount of
R 7 713-00 (about US $ 1 500) from the Welkom City Council.
The Church however only received Title to the Property on June 24th 1985.
The Deed of Sale was subject however to the Church Building been completed
within 5 years of the purchase date, failing which the property would revert to the
City Council. The Church could not fulfil this condition in the alloted time.
The Pastorship and Chairmanship of the Local Church became vacant and
Local Church Council extended a call to me on November 30th 1989.
I immediately negotiated with the City Council for an extention of time to complete the building.
Within the first year of my ministry at Goldfields Revival Centre, I was able to
connect the sewage to the City sewage system. While we have fulfilled the
City Council's minimum Building requirements and our ownership is secure
much work still needs to be done to the interior of the Church.
The Church is situated in the Dagbreek, Suburb of Welkom.
Dagbreek is an Afrikaans word meaning Day Break.
