To deregister or not to deregister? That is the question.
  "I am not using my CC/PTY and I want to get rid of it."
  You've paid for your CC/PTY, so why not make it dormant - you might want to use it in the future. If not, you could try selling it. Failing that you could apply to have it deregistered. (Keeping a CC/PTY dormant may cost you a couple of hundred Rand a year in basic admin/statutory costs.)
  "I am running my CC/PTY but want to get rid of it."
  You could sell the CC/PTY as a going concern. You could close the business of the CC/PTY and keep the CC/PTY dormant. You could apply for deregistration.
