A candidate who satisfactorily completes this module will have the competence to carry out day-to-day housekeeping tasks and create batch files to automate these and other tasks.

Candidate eligibility

The selection of candidates is at the discretion of centres.  No previous knowledge of microcomputer operating systems is assumed, but it would be advantageous for candidates to have completed a 7261/400, 401, 402, 405, 406 or 407) prior to undertaking this module.

Resource requirements

In order to undertake this module a candidate will require access to a microcomputer system running a version of DOS or Unix and a printer.
