  • Przewalski's horse, photographed at the National Zoological Gardens, Pretoria 1999, by Joanna Holliday.
  • The Sumerian models are pulled by onagers (wild asses), which are not the same as Przewalski's horse.
  • Przewalski's horse inhabits the steppe and is related to the onager, which is lighter in color and still roams the plains of northern India.

  • Note the white underbelly, dark main and legs which is similar to the color scheme of the onager.
