High up on the Franschhoek pass
lies the magnificent Haute Cabrière Cellar Restaurant. It overlooks both Pinot Noir vineyards, where the grapes are grown and the maturation cellar where the wines lie ageing in small oak barrels under soaring arches.
Matthew and Nicky Gordon have created
a unique restaurant (consistently in the country's 'top ten'), a wonderful
showcase for Achim's wines.
The exciting gastronomic experience
offered is the true marriage of food and wine. Most
restaurants proffer a menu, followed by a winelist. At
Haute Cabrière, the wines are central to the meal.
