Established in 1969 and based in Johannesburg, Science Fiction South Africa (SFSA) is a club for fans of both science fiction and fantasy. Membership benefits include:

SFSA is a long running South African Science Fiction club. We enjoy social
gatherings once a month, an extensive library of books for members, an
excellent quarterly fanzine, mini conventions, a yearly short story
competion and much more.
- Next month's event: Speaker: Prof. Deirdre Byrne on Harry Potter and modern fantasy on Saturday 19 July 2008
- 10 June 2008: SFSA in Cape Town. A couple of people
in the greater Cape Town area are now looking at getting together for regular
meetings. If you live in the region and would like to contact other SF fans,
please send
secretary@sfsa.org.za your details, and we'll pass it on. It would be
great for SFSA to have a Cape Town Chapter.
- Our Mini Radio Play is currently being
judged. We appologise to all for the delay, but life have the bad habit
of interfering.
- Camping weekend: 12th/13th of April 2008. We got washed out in our
attempt to go camping last year, so we have decided to try again. We are
intending to go to Mountain Sanctuary
Park (about an hours drive from Johannesburg) on the 12th of April.
We will braai and stay over and probably go for a walk on Sunday the 13th.
The cost of the outing will be R60.00 and we need to pay a deposit of R30.00
per person. Could those people who are interested please let us know so that
we can book?

- 31 January 2008: The Mini Radio Play Competition submission deadline is
31 January, but we've decided to extend the deadline for two weeks to allow
for postage and a few late entries we know are almost done ... so if you're
finishing something off, or a literary whizzkid who can write an under 3
minute radio play in 2 weeks - feel free to send it in ... but don't delay!
- 13 November 2007: SFSA newest competition is a
Mini Radio Play. Entries are open now, and close on 31 January 2008.
