SFSA is a long running South African Science Fiction club. We enjoy social gatherings once a month, an extensive library of books for members, an excellent quarterly fanzine, mini conventions, a yearly short story competion and much more.


  • This month's event: Speaker: Fernando Abdala on "Palaeontology, science with the past, fiction in the present", and the movie on Saturday 27 March 2010
  • Next month's event: Speaker: Daleen Labuschagne on Irony in SF, and a movie on Saturday 17 April 2010



  • 15 March 2010: Competition winners. The results of the South African section of the Nova story competition is now available at the link.
  • 04 February 2010: Competition winners. The results of the General section of the Nova story competition is now available at the link. Results of the South African section will follow later.
  • 24 February 2010: Committee portfolio shuffle. At the AGM the committe was re-elected. A shuffle of some of the portfolios have taken place. As did a photoshoot. You can now see the committee in all their glory here.
