A worthy addition to Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, The Last Hero returns once more to the story of
Rincewind the "wizzard", featuring once more the man-eating luggage and the
Disc's last band of heroes led by Cohan the barbarian. The heroes,
growing old, decide to protest by returning to the Gods what the first hero
stole: Fire.
In typical Discworld style, the unwilling Rincewind is sent to "save the
gods" from the heroes' retribution, aided by Captain Carrot of
the Watch, and the most dangerous man the Disc has ever seen: A scientist.
The Last Hero is entertaining, and definitely
worth reading. My only difficulty with it is that it is much shorter than
your average Discworld novel, presumably because the book is full of artwork
(which is very well done).
If you like Discworld, or even if you don't, give this one a try.
