When we come to this time of the year and look back over the months, it is easy sometimes to feel that more could have been accomplished or achieved. Yet Life Itself, has no limitations. And there is no limit to Life when we understand that there is one originating Source, and that is God.

In a book I am currently reading, entitled, “Usable Truth”, by Richard Lynch, it is stated: “The spirit of man is ever yearning to express the Divine image that was stamped on his soul “in the beginning”. If he will but co-operate with this urge he may accomplish wondrous things.” It is also mentioned in the book that even the voices of scientists have declared that …..”the glory of God is still advancing.” I found that to be such a powerful statement!

We see the glory of God in the way nature has responded to the recent rains we have had. In the green of the trees, plants and grass all around, we can see that nature has been nourished and sustained; and nature’s response to the rain has been immediate! We too, respond when our spirits are nourished – when we remember to feed our souls. When we immerse ourselves in Truth, then our whole being responds in resonance with what truly is.

What is interesting is that during a drought, we lose sight of the potential of nature. All we see is a dry and arid world around us. The grassed spaces on the verges, in the parks, and on our own lawns, resemble dry dust bowls. Leaves on the trees are scant and drop before their time. In our own lives, during our own droughts of spirit, we lose sight of our potential as divine expressions of God. It is during such times that we experience our greatest suffering. When we try to “go it alone”, it just does not work. When our spirit is not maintained and sustained, we experience chaos, lack of harmony, and lack of purpose. We exist, instead of living life to the full.

Remember, living life to the full also incorporates our pain. Some of our soul’s greatest gifts or greatest lessons come in the most challenging packages. In life so often, we are chasing after more! More what? We are wasting our time – we don’t need any more. If we are not happy and fulfilled now, then how is “more” going to change that? What we need to do is stop right where we are and BE all that we are in Truth, right now!

The only “more” we need, is more God – a greater realization of, and a deeper understanding of this intelligence that resides within us at all times; this substance that is always living us. And as we begin to know and understand this we will gradually allow the spirit of God full expression through us.

Drop the human thought of what should and could be, and let your soul, the very spirit of you, BE what it is. “Who by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature?”
Who of us with our human minds can add to what God has already perfected?

Humanly we seek more ………………
Spiritually we ARE more ……
Because we understand – there is only God!

MESSAGE FR0M THE BOARD PRESIDENT:

Dear Members/Friends of ACT

At the AGM, we undertook to keep you all informed on progress re the sale of the building. As we reported, we had an offer to buy the building and we had put in an offer on a piece of land.

The offer to buy the building has fallen through and our offer on the land has not been accepted, so it's back to the drawing boards! We still have people viewing the building however but no other definite offer. The Board will be considering the options at our next meeting in December.

This is a real lesson in not being attached to outcomes, so we are putting our teachings into practice. We are confident that whatever the outcome, it will be the "right" thing for ACT.

DIVINE SCIENCE CLASSES:
The schedule for next years classes is still to be completed. Please keep an eye on the notice board in the hall for details, which will also be e-mailed out in due course.

SPIRITUAL CINEMA CIRCLE:
Through the Cinema Circle, we have had the opportunity to view some exceptional movies this past year. The movies will resume in February next year, probably the second Friday evening. We will advise you of the relevant information in the February newsletter. It is thanks to Joan Peters who has made the Cinema Circle
possible.

CHRISTMAS DINNER ON 7 DECEMBER:
The Social Committee has organized a Christmas Dinner at Villa Tuscana (Summerstrand) as their last event for the year. This will take place on Wednesday, 7 December at 7:00pm. A wonderful menu, in a wonderful setting with wonderful people …. Don’t miss it! Let us support these folk in their efforts to bring us together as a spiritual family. Come and celebrate with us. WITH GRATITUDE …. we thank all who support our Centre and the teaching of Truth. Without your donations, your assistance, your love and enthusiasm, we could not operate. Your “giving” is gratefully received, even if it is in giving of your help with seemingly mundane tasks, we do say “Thank you!”

Please note – after the Christmas Eve Service, the Centre will be closed. The first service in 2006 will be on Sunday, 15 January, with the office opening again from Tuesday 17 January.

N.B. From 2006, the Centre will be closed on a Monday.

In closing …… I share with you this meditation:

Be still …………..
In the stillness we find God.
In the stillness we are at perfect peace.
And in the stillness we surrender and transcend all human appearances.
The Divine Creator within is the radiance of my life and yours.
Is the joy of my heart and yours.
Is the magnificence of my mind and yours.
Is the truth of our being.
In spirit we are one;
In spirit we are unlimited,
And in recognition of this, our gratitude knows no bounds.
God is ………..I am.

May the awareness of the indwelling Christ bring you peace this Christmas, and as you celebrate with your families and friends, may the wonder of God’s ever present love be carried with you into 2006!
