About the TTO

It is that time of the year again. The Transkei Trout Open is hosted by the Transkei Piscatorial Society and the Round Table No.4 Umtata. Come and join us for a unique fishing experience at Mabeleni Dam.

Date: 1,2 September 2001

Times: Saturday, 12h00 - 18h00
Sunday, 06h00 - 11h00

All flyfishermen to attend a compulsory briefing session at 11h30 on the Saturday morning.

The number of flyfishers is restricted to 120 so be sure to book your place now. Entry fees for the competition is as follows:

Adults R 220.00 per person
Juniors R 150.00 per person (u/16)

The entry fee include the following meals per particpant: Saturday evening spit braai, Sunday breakfast and Sunday lunch. Additional meal tickets will be available for non-fishing participants at R 35.00 per person per meal (Saturday evening spit braai & Sunday lunch).

Participants can camp out at Mabeleni Dam over the weekend. Basic facilities (including hot showers) will be provided. A cash bar and food stalls will be available. Forestry will charge R 5.00 entrance fee per person per day and a further R 10.00 per person per night camping for those staying over.
